Regain Your Health and Vitality in Midlife
Are you noticing that, as the years pass, your health isn’t what it used to be? Maybe your mind isn’t as sharp, and simple tasks feel harder. You might be forgetting things, feeling sluggish, or just not enjoying life like you used to.
Have those annoying aches and pains crept into your joints? Is anxiety or depression casting shadows over your days? You’re not alone.
You try to eat healthy and work out, but it doesn’t seem to help. The doctor runs tests and tells you everything’s fine. “It’s just what happens when you hit this age,” they say.
But here’s the thing—midlife doesn’t have to be this way.
I know because I’ve been there, and my mission is to help you regain your health and feel like yourself again.
My Story: From Surviving to Thriving
In my mid-30s, I started losing control of my health in ways that were hard to ignore.
I became forgetful—embarrassingly so. I’d blank on names and words during conversations. At work, I feared I’d forget something important and cost the company money, or worse, lose my job.
Then came the anxiety. Then the depression. It made no sense—I had a good job, a healthy family, and no major traumas. But I felt empty and exhausted.
Even though I tried everything—eating what I thought was healthy and pushing harder in the gym—nothing worked. My doctor diagnosed me with chronic fatigue syndrome, but I knew I couldn’t keep living like this.
I was 36, and I had lost hope. I felt like I was a whisker away from a breakdown.
That’s when I decided something had to change. I dove deep into health research, listening to podcasts and reading everything I could find. Eventually, everything became crystal clear after discovering the 2 foundational pillars of health.
By implementing these pillars I went from merely surviving one day to the next, to thriving and enjoying life again.
The 2 Pillars to Regain Your Health
If you’re feeling the same decline I went through, there’s hope. You don’t have to accept this as your new normal. The solution? It’s in two simple but powerful levers — how you refuel (food & hydration) and how you recharge (sleep & rest).
Let’s dive into these two pillars.
The First Pillar: How to Refuel (Food & Hydration)
I’m not going to promote some fad diet or tell you to starve yourself. “Diet” isn’t about restriction. It’s about giving your body what it truly needs to thrive.
Forget what you’ve been told about grains, seed oils, and low-fat diets. Instead, let’s ask ourselves: What are we, as humans, designed to eat?
Think back to what our ancestors ate before processed food existed. No grains. No seed oils. They ate animals, fruits, and vegetables—foods they could hunt, gather, or pick. Simple, whole foods.
Here’s the deal: highly processed, human-made foods don’t fuel us properly. Our bodies weren’t designed for them. Yet, we’ve been convinced that they’re healthy.
When I shifted to eating like our ancestors—meat (including organ meats), some veggies, and fruits—my brain fog lifted, and my depression eased. Within a week, I felt like a new person. It was better than any pill a doctor could have given me.
Want to try it out? Start by cutting out grains and seed oils for a couple of weeks. See how your body responds—you might be surprised by how quickly you feel the difference.
The Second Pillar: How to Recharge (Sleep & Rest)
Now that you’re fueling your body better, let’s talk about sleep. Sleep is your body’s time to recharge. Without it, your body can’t heal, your brain can’t clear toxins, and your energy levels plummet.
In our modern world, sleep often gets pushed aside for work, Netflix, or scrolling through our phones. But sleep is non-negotiable if you want to regain your health.
Think of it this way—our ancestors didn’t have smartphones, artificial lights, or Netflix. When it got dark, they slept. It’s as simple as that. Your body still operates on that same rhythm, no matter how modern the world has become.
So, what can you do? Prioritize sleep like it’s your job. Create a routine, shut off screens early, and make your bedroom a sleep sanctuary. I’ve written plenty about sleep hacks, tools, and routines to help improve your sleep and rest—check out this guide for more.
These Pillars Can Change Your Life
Once I aligned my diet with what my body was designed for and made sleep a priority, everything shifted. I regained my focus, my energy, and my lust for life.
If you’re feeling stuck, I encourage you to focus on these two pillars. What have you got to lose?
Give it two weeks and see how your body responds. If you’re anything like me, you’ll be amazed at the results.
Your Next Steps: Regain Your Health
